Divide a Multi-Contact vCard File Into Individual Contact Records

Contact lists exported from smartphones or email services are often saved in a single VCF file. This file may include the entire address book combined. Although storing contacts this way is helpful for backup or transfer, working with a large file can sometimes become inconvenient. For instance, sending a few contacts to someone or importing selected entries into another device is usually easier when each contact is available as a separate file.

Softaken Software Split vCard Tool helps simplify this task. The software reads the chosen VCF file and carefully analyzes all contact entries stored in it. Instead of directly processing the file, the software first shows the complete contact list in a preview window. Before the combined file is broken apart, users will be given the opportunity to verify that the data is accurate and that the entries are correct.

Depending upon how many contacts the user has in the combined file, the number of VCF files created may vary as well. This tool was designed to work with any of the vCard specifications that have been created. As a result, any devices or other applications used for managing contacts should work fine. Once the user has confirmed that entries from all the contacts have been entered as expected into the compiled files, the software will create separate VCF files for each contact and will maintain all of the original data needed for each contact (name, phone number, e-mail).
